Snow Maternity Photos - 27 Weeks and 1 Day

maternity photos

As a photographer, I rarely set up my camera for self portraits or have others take photos of me. I usually am so busy editing and working that it just is not important enough to me. BUT when I found out I was pregnant, I knew that I wanted to capture my belly and body change throughout my pregnancy. My body will never look exactly the same, and my little girl will not always be in my belly.

Being pregnant in the middle of winter, outdoor maternity photos are not practical, when scheduling your maternity session months ahead and traveling 4 hours to your photographer like we are doing. It may be snowy and pretty, and in that case we will step outside for a few photos. Most likely it will be dreary and all the trees will be dead, so we will have indoor photos in Jackie Beachy’s studio. SOOO when we got this big snow, I asked my husband Cory if he would capture photos of me in the snow. He kindly said yes, even though photography is NOT his thing (he is a construction worker with very little interest in photos at all). I set my camera settings, and gave him a quick lesson on focusing the camera on my face and he went to work. It took about 15 shots for him to get the hang of it, and then he started snapping away.

I am so thankful for him taking the time to drive to the spot I wanted photos, and take these for me in the 10 degree weather, after working all day. Seriously, this meant the world to me. Here is a look at some of my favorite photos he captured of me at 27 weeks and 1 day pregnant. YES, I froze my butt off but it was so worth it.

Thank you Cory. I can’t wait to see you be a daddy to our little girl.
